About Simat Labs

Privacy-first computer vision and machine learning, built for retail, education, and airports in the Middle East.

We build production computer vision systems that run on the edge — close to the camera, close to the point of sale. Our first product, DCI, identifies returning guests at the till in under 200 milliseconds without sending biometric data to the cloud. Same approach across every solution: useful intelligence at the moment it matters, with privacy preserved by design.

Mission

Make computer vision useful without making customers the product.

Most facial recognition shipped today is built cloud-first and privacy-second. We invert that. Recognition runs on local hardware, biometric embeddings stay on-premise, and operators get loyalty-grade insight at the POS without uploading customer faces to anyone's servers — ours included.

Approach

On-device by default. POS-native. Pilot in weeks, not quarters.

Every solution we ship is designed to drop into existing retail stacks — standard cameras, common POS systems, no rip-and-replace. We optimize for latency at the counter and for compliance with GDPR principles like data minimization and the right to erasure. Cross-location sync via the cloud is opt-in for chains that want a shared customer profile; single-store deployments stay fully on-premise.
